DESCRIPTION OF THE PAINTING BY THE ARTIST: PIECE ENTITLED ‘BOY BLUE”
ll my portraits revolve around the idea of breaking free from all difficult situations by striving for all the best on life.
The portrait of the painting titled (son of the soil) talks about any person who grew up in poverty, with different experiences to share according to the background of where we come from. This painting relates to me more because i myself come from poverty and it is one horrible situation that is hard to overcome.
When i decided to do this painting i knew that it would directly talk to the inner me and it would evoke certain emotions when other people look at it.
The lying down on the ground by the boy simply
Means being down and out or just being at the bottom of the food chain. When looking at the shape eyes, you see a promise of a good future ahead and the focus to the goals of the future. We make mistakes and we all fail all the time but that is necessary for our growth.
The colours i used on this painting are colours that portray the good and positive that we all have and we need to apply daily in our lives so that we can be a better version of ourselves.
The blue often symbolizes serenity, stability, inspiration, wisdom or health. Blue is also a calming colour and symbolizes reliability.
Red is another colour that holds many and important feelings. It symbolizes life itself, health, Vigor, war and i translate war to the clash of the positive and negative emotions we have, courage, anger, love, and passion.
Cream white is the one i like the most because it is calm, and we tend to make good choices when we are calm and still. Cream white is elegant and pure, and purity is one of the highest forms of self-love and enlightenment.
Navy blue evokes feelings of power and authority. Then darker shades of blue tend to lean more towards ideas of authority and importance.
All these symbols and meanings are attribute that all straggling people should have in order to change the situation or to change one’s personal journey.
